It's 1950... Meet Flavia de Luce, she's "an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison." When a series of a strange events start happening in Bishop's Lacey and a dead man is found in the cucumber patch underneath Flavia's bedroom window, Flavia is "appalled and delighted" at the same time. She decides she is going to solve the murder! And the adventure begins! Flavia is Harriet the Spy and Sherlock Holmes all wrapped up together. She's "a new breed of detective heroine". A charming detective novel, with a touch of dark humor this book has adults raving and expecting more - which we'll get! Because this is the first book in the Buckshaw Chronicles! If you'd like to learn more about Flavia check out her fan club : The Flavia Fan Club . This book is on my shelf right now and I'm chomping at the bit to get to it! And as soon as I do, I'll do a "proper review'!

The Sugar Queen was a good read and I'd really like to read Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie someday.
Hi Dar! I thought The Sugar Queen sounded good! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it! And the candy giveaway by the author is fun too!
I have Sweetness at the Bottom of The Pie to read. I read and enjoyed Follow Me. It was a little slow in the beginning but I definitely enjoyed the characterizations and they pay-off of the story coming together at the end.
Hi Nicole! I look forward to reading Follow Me too. I liked the premise that Sally made all these 'questionable' choices, but finally settled down and yet told her story to her granddaughter a little different then it might be. So I'm hoping that there will be some interesting revelations. I think we all should plan on reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie together and have a discussion right here! Thanks for joining in on the conversation!
Sweetness at the bottom of the pie sounds great, something I think Bell and I would both like, look forward to your review.
Hi Book Pusher! Yes, 'Sweetness' I think is going to get a lot of press and since it's suppose to be a series I think it's going to take off. It does look like a cute read and I'm looking forward to reading it!
